"I Just Work Here" presents: Sadly Amusing

Allison is not the only person I know who struggles to name countries in other parts of the world. Did you know that approximately one-third of Americans have never visited another country? The majority of Americans are really, really bad at geography, a fact that comedian John Oliver likes to regularly tease us for.

Compared to other countries in the world, Americans are far less likely to travel overseas. A large part of this is due to the fact America is fairly isolated geographically; unlike our European counterparts we can't simply hop on a train and visit several other countries with ease. We usually have to fly somewhere because we've got two big oceans on either side. Americans are most likely to travel to Canada and Mexico when they do travel abroad, although Australia and Europe are other popular destinations. In 2014 and 2015 we saw a huge spike not only in people travelling overseas, but in people renewing their passports! My own passport will need to be renewed pretty soon, now that I think on it...

The fact Javiera is from Venezuela was first referenced HERE.
