"I Just Work Here" presents: Dreddful Opening Speech
Before I go any farther with this story, I wish to make a point to say: Mrs. Dredd IS IN NO WAY BASED OFF ANYONE I KNOW IN THE REAL WORLD!!! The trainers at the county I work for are actually very dedicated, passionate individuals who enjoy their job (or at least managed to convince me they do), and Mrs. Dredd is in no way intended to be a parody of anything I experienced when I was going through training.
That being said, I found the idea of a trainer who hates students and training in general to be just hilarious. This story arc has been pretty challening to draft so far because I keep writing myself down dead ends, then having to back-track. Mrs. Dredd was originally your typical thoughtful, caring trainer, but after going down that literary dead-end I decided we needed to try something new. I think she's going to be a lot of fun.
