I was originally going to dispose of the previous page because there was no real punchline, and it felt unneccessary to the story progression. But then, while I was going over the drafts I realized that without the previous page, this page wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. Readers not familiar with rock climbing, especially those not familiar with what climbing an arch would look like, might very well be lost.
It's also odd to note, the previous page was MUCH more time-consuming to draw. All those rotten rock holds took me FOREVER, and figuring out how to draw it so people could see what was happening was tricky. However, I made very few mistakes on the original art for that page. Then I draw THIS page and good grief, I messed up so many things. There was a lot of editing in Photoshop to get this page right. 0_o
Funny how things work out sometimes, hm?
